Eisen v. Cuomo

Closed. Settled and/or Withdrawn

Eisen v. Cuomo, No. 7:20-cv-05121 (S.D.N.Y.)

Case Summary The Governor of NY issued a Executive Order to suspend the collection of signatures for petitions of candidates seeking nominations of a major political party; however, the Executive Order did not reduce the number of signatures for independent candidates or extend the deadline to file those petitions. Plaintiffs challenged that the Governor emergency orders restricting access for independent candidates create a severe burden for independent candidates to get on the General Election Ballot.
